Blackjack dealer arrested in cheat and swindle scandal

A former blackjack dealer has been caught and arrested after being accused of handing out winnings despite the player's hand not being a win itself.

The blackjack dealer was an employee at Harrah's Casino in New Orleans: a 115,000 sq ft casino with over 2100 slot machines, over 90 table games and a poker room; where playing on only one machine per day leaves enough to have you playing a different machine for over six years.

The incident is being described by reports as a cheating and swindling investigation. The investigators who handled the incident have said that the perpetrator, 24 year old Brena Lewis had handed out money to people whom she appeared to know.

Police dealing with the incident have said that the behaviour of Lewis and cohorts has cost Harrah's over $32,000. They are also looking for four more individuals linked to the incident.

The police have stated that the investigation initially began in May when detectives were notified by Harrah's Casino Surveillance of possible swindling and cheating accoutring at the casino blackjack tables.

Police asked anyone with any information about the incident to call the Louisiana State Police and come forward with any evidence as soon as possible.
